Advancing digitalisation and composite technologies for safer, more sustainable aviation

EU Project Synergies: DEMOQUAS โ€“ GENEX โ€“ TOSCA

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ 24 of September 2025 | ๐Ÿ• 11.00 โ€“ 12.00 CEST ๐ŸŒ Online Event

Join us for an insightful webinar exploring the cutting-edge innovations of three Horizon Europe projects โ€“ DEMOQUAS, GENEX EU Project, and TOSCA (PROFACTOR) โ€“ as they come together to share synergies in the digital transformation and sustainability of the aviation sector.

Under the shared theme โ€œAdvancing Digitalisation and Composite Technologies for Safer, More Sustainable Aviationโ€, this session will highlight how each project is pioneering technologies that will shape the aircraft of tomorrow. This session is the first one of what we expect will be a series of three, that will open its agenda to additional topics and projects

Featured Projects:
๐Ÿ”นDEMOQUAS โ€“ Coordinated by Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and launched in May 2024, DEMOQUAS is enhancing aviation safety through advanced uncertainty quantification (UQ) across the entire lifecycle of aircraft and engine components. By developing a UQ-enabled digital twin framework, the project addresses design, manufacturing, and operations, applied to six industrially relevant test cases.
๐Ÿ”นGENEX โ€“ Led by ITA ยท Instituto Tecnolรณgico de Aragรณn since September 2022, GENEX is developing an end-to-end digital framework for optimized manufacturing and maintenance of next-generation composite aircraft structures. The project integrates three key technological blocks into a multi-disciplinary digital twin, enabling recyclable and reparable smart components.
๐Ÿ”นTOSCA โ€“ Coordinated by PROFACTOR GmbH and launched in January 2025, TOSCA focuses on sustainable composite manufacturing using innovative vitrimer resins. With applications in future eVTOL vehicles, the project introduces new approaches in fibre placement, quality control, welding, and repair, all supported by digital twin technologies.

This session is the first of what we envision as a three-part series, which will open its agenda to additional topics and projects in the future – further expanding the conversation around innovation in sustainable aviation.
