DEMOQUAS research presented at AIAA AVIATION Forum 2026

From in-service engine behaviour to more reliable predictions.

At AIAA AVIATION Forum 2026 in San Diego, our partner Safran presented DEMOQUAS-related research focused on realistic aeroengine deterioration trends.

The paper, titled: “Modeling Realistic In-Service Aeroengine Deterioration Trends Using an Integrated Cycle Model” was developed through a joint effort between Safran and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), contributing to the activities of the DEMOQUAS Project.

This work addresses a key challenge for future aviation systems: understanding how engines evolve and degrade during real operational use, so that models can better support performance assessment, predictive capabilities and safety-oriented decision-making.

Within DEMOQUAS, this contribution supports the development of more credible, uncertainty-aware tools for aircraft and engine design, manufacturing and operations.

The paper is available in the AIAA conference proceedings: https://doi.org/10.2514/6.2026-4416

Many thanks to Safran and AUTH for contributing to the dissemination of DEMOQUAS research within the international aerospace community!
