As the aviation industry accelerates toward zero-emission technologies, liquid hydrogen is emerging as a promising alternative fuel. But designing safe, efficient and certifiable hydrogen systems remains a complex challenge and that’s where the DEMOQUAS project comes in.
Within DEMOQUAS, advanced research is focused on the design and simulation of cryogenic hydrogen tanks, aiming to reduce thermal losses, optimize structural integrity and ensure safety under real-world operating conditions.
These design efforts are supported by cutting-edge Uncertainty Quantification (UQ) methodologies, including data-driven modeling and AI-assisted tools. The development of these methodologies within our project ensures that key design decisions are guided by quantitative risk analysis, making European aviation better equipped to meet the Flightpath 2050 objectives.
