Last month, the European Commission signed a landmark agreement with EUROCONTROL to strengthen cooperation in support of EU climate and environmental policies.
This strategic partnership will:

🔹 Support data-driven policymaking for a greener and more efficient airspace
🔹 Reinforce the EU’s ambition for climate-neutral aviation by 2050
These developments align closely with the work of the DEMOQUAS project, which is actively integrating uncertainty quantification into the modeling of aircraft operations and environmental impact. Understanding the variability in NOₓ emissions and contrail formation is crucial to designing operational strategies and aircraft systems that truly reduce aviation’s climate footprint.
